The Deputy Prime Minister of Ethiopia, Demeke Mekonen, said Sierra Leone and Ethiopia signed an Air Service Agreement in 2008 and it is their hope that Freetown will soon be a destination for Ethiopian Airlines. An Ethiopian team is in Sierra Leone for a 3-day state visit. He noted the worthy leadership of Ethiopia’s Prime Minister, 42-year old, Abiy Ahmed and the People’s Revolutionary Democratic Front coalition. President Julius Maada Bio aid before he took over leadership there had been good relations with the people of Ethiopia and Sierra Leone. He said Sierra Leone has no boundaries in terms of region, diplomatic ties, and is open to every progressive government in the world.
