The rainy season has gone since almost two months but the river is still black in colour. China though has denied having any such plans.The local student's body, All Bogong Students' Union (E) on Monday staged a protest rally against Chinese government's possible diversion of Siang River to water the arid region of other parts of China. They shouted slogans like 'Chinese Government Hai Hai', 'Stop Diversion of Siang River', 'Siang River is our lifeline' etc. The students also submitted a petition to the district commissioner addressing Prime Minister Narendra Modi in which they sought urgent intervention of the issue with China at international forum. Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal and former Minister of State for Minority Affairs Ninong Ering has also written to PM Modi seeking his immediate intervention.
