Kenya lost its opening match match 36-12 to Fiji then lost 35-12 to Samoa and 36-12 to Canada to be relegated to the Challenge Cup quarters where they weere due to face Australia at 7:52pmIn the opening match against the Olympic champions, Kenya trailed early with Sevuloni Mocenacagi slipped past Shujaa defence and dotted a for unconverted try for a 5-0 lead. Alasio Sovita Naduva then raced over the whitewash to give the Fijians their second try and with Vilimoni Botitu added the extras for a 12-0 lead before Naduva returned to the score sheet for the third try for the Fijians as they led 17-0 at the interval.Fijian playmaker Jerry Tuwai straight from the restart ran unchallenged to score Fiji's fourth try and a 22-0. From the restart, Kenya were able to hold on the ball and Johnstone Olindi crashed over the line to reduce the deficit to 22-5. Cyprian Kuoto scoreda brace for Kenya who trailed 19-5 at the breakends
