KUALA LUMPUR: Popular 1970s singer Uji Rashid denies rumours that her son Cico Harahap is mute and unable to read. “As his mother, it’s disheartening to hear such lies being spread by some irresponsible individuals,” Uji said in a news report recently. The singer of Semakin Hari Semakin Sayang however admitted that his 39-year-old son suffered health problems after a meeting with a friend on Dec 25 in 2016. It is believed that the drinks he had that night was spiked with poison, which has affected his brain, internal organs and vocal chords. Recently, Uji made headlines when the Urban Wellbeing, Housing and Local Government Ministry approved her application for the more affordable People’s Housing Project (PPR).
