PUTRAJAYA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak today announced that 1.6 million civil servants will receive an annual salary increment effective July 1. "This means that the civil servants will get an additional annual salary increment, besides the annual salary movement received this year," he announced at the 16th Civil Service Premier Message Gathering (MAPPA). A loud applause from the 10,000 civil servants, who attended the annual event at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), greeted his announcement. Najib said the government will also extend the medical facilities to parents of contract of service officers, effective July 1. Najib, who is also the Finance Minister, announced several incentives as well for civil servants and pensioners to the applause of about 10,000 civil servants at the 16th Civil Service Premier Gathering (MAPPA XVI) here.
