Shots fired at Outaouais cell towers, buildings and traffic checkpoints

Three police forces in the Outaouais are investigating reports of a series of gunshots to buildings and cell towers that occurred over the course of two months this spring. The Sûreté du Québec, Gatineau Police, and MRC-des-Collines-de-l'Outaouais police forces are conducting a joint investigation of 12 different shootings. Police say bullets went through windows and door frames at Hydro-Québec, Bell and Videotron facilities between March 18 and April 15. Two roadside traffic control checkpoints along Highway 50 and Highway 148 were also targeted, according to police. An arrest was made on another police matter and investigators believe they've established a link with the shots fired.
