Shooting suspect confesses in Brandon church, gets arrested


Police nabbed a shooting suspect at a Brandon church Saturday night after he reportedly confessed his sins to a worker and tried to hide. Police were called at about 5:40 p.m. CT to the 300 block of 10th Street after reports of a gunshot and an altercation between two men. Officers arrived and taped off the scene but didn't find either of the two men in the area, Brandon police Sgt. Neither the suspect nor the victim were found in the area where the shooting reportedly took place, police said. Not long after that call, another call came in, this time from someone at a church on 8th Street, Yanick said.
