Clutha Budget Advisory Service co-ordinator Lee-Anne Michelle says new local initiative Happy Feet will help lower-income families upgrade children's school shoes. PHOTO: RICHARD DAVISONSouth Otago pupils will soon be able to put their best foot forward, thanks to a fledgling community foundation. Service co-ordinator Lee-Anne Michelle said the $2000 received would allow it to "kick start" new initiative Happy Feet, helping provide new school shoes to lower-income families locally. Recipients would be selected by referral from other agencies, and could receive up to $50 towards a new pair of school shoes, once a year. "The foundation allows the generous people of the Clutha District to continue making a difference through initiatives like Happy Feet."
