The shoddy investigation conducted by the police was the prime reason for the accused being let off. The police later conducted a panchanama of the spot. However at the time of examination of the panchanama before the court, it was brought on record by the police that after the incident, there was no hutment present on the spot, thus they could not gauge if the accident had occurred or not. Also the police claimed that the complainant in the case, who was the father of the deceased, was not traceable.
