His father Salman F Rahman is chairman of the private bank. Its board of directors took the decision on making Shayan vice-chairman in a recent meeting, the bank said in a media release on Tuesday. He is a counsellor of the Abahani Limited and owns the Dhaka Dynamites franchise of the Bangladesh Premier League or BPL. Shayan is the chairman, Advisory Committee for Bangladesh, Prince of Wales Trust, British Asian Sector. He is also the consul general of Kazakhstan in Bangladesh and a member of SAARC Youth Chamber’s Executive Committee.
