This is at least the second time that the 33-year old Shahadat is facing the consequences of letting his anger rule, as he had hit the headlines for abusing his domestic help a couple of years ago. It is reported that the altercation took place after Shahdat had asked the 24-year old Arafat Sunny to shine the ball. When the debutant declined to do so, the pacer assaulted him physically during the lunch break. If the player is proven guilty by the Bangladesh Cricket Board technical committee, he will face a one-year ban and a fine of Tk50,000. Shahadat has confessed to the assault, saying that he lost his temper not only because Sunny declined to shine the ball, but also because the 24-year-old had replied harshly.
