(Seychelles News Agency) - Team Seychelles has won six gold medals at the first-ever Special Olympics Pan African Games which ends Friday in Cairo, Egypt. The top gold medallist is Maggie Estico with two gold medals -- one in the 100 metre-race and the other in long jump. Divisioning allows all athletes participating in any Special Olympics Games the opportunity to compete on an equal playing field. The first-ever Special Olympics Pan African Games was a joint event hosted by the Special Olympics Middle East, North Africa and Africa regions, marking the first time that two Special Olympics regions joined forces to create a combined Games.
