MEA has two Joint Secretaries (JS) for Europe – Europe (West) and Central Europe. Sandeep Arya will be new JS Europe (West) and incumbent G Balasubramanian will be new JS (Administration). Africa has been managed by two Joint Secretaries and North Africa is looked after by West Asia North Africa or WANA division. Smita Pant will now be in charge of India’s ties with Bangladesh-Myanmar which was also under Doraiswami. DPA comprises three Joint Secretaries overseeing various aspects of DPA.
