A man preyed on vulnerable young teenagers by giving them drugs before sexually abusing them, a court has heard. The court heard how Herlund sexually abused one of the girls when she was 13 years old. The court also heard how Herlund took other girls to his apartment in the prestigious Metropolis building in downtown Auckland. The girl told Herlund she would do anything for the ticket, except sex. Culliney said Herlund told one report writer one of the survivors was 15 years old and that was "better than 14 and-a-half".
