Agustina Arshad, 33, claimed that during a visit in August, her husband told her that he needed the needles to sew his torn prison clothes. When she suggested that he send the clothes to the warden, the husband said that it was troublesome and asked for the needles to be hidden in a greeting card. Agustina then removed a page from a greeting card and hid the needles along the spine before reattaching back the paper and mailing it to the prison. However, the needles were detected during an x-ray inspection and police traced the card back to her. Investigations revealed that her husband had actually asked for the needles because his cellmates wanted to be tattooed.
