Tambon Muang Pon Administrative Organisation president Somchai Wongchanthanapong said Mae Kho Ju, Nong Haeng and Tha Hin Som were affected by the flash flood with inundation estimated at two metres. The flash flood hit the villages at 8pm on Saturday and damaged dozens of rai of farmland. A wooden bridge at Tha Hin Som partially collapsed while a large section of the fence of Mae Kho Ju School was destroyed, officials found. The flash flood also swept away and drowned a cow belonging to an elderly farmer in Nong Haeng. As rains continued in upstream villages, Nong Haeng residents were moving belongings and livestock to higher grounds as precaution.
