The country’s largest flag will be used to cheer the Thai national football team when they play Iraq in the Fifa World Cup Asian Qualifying match on August 31 at Bangkok’s Rajamangala Stadium in Hua Mark. The flag had been used in the past for cheering Thai athletes. Images of the giant flag being waved by the crowds in stadiums acted as a morale-booster for the athletes. After washing the flag, they sought use of Pibulsongkram Rajabhat University’s football field to dry the flag. The group was also assisted by students living in the vicinity, who helped shake the flag to speed up the drying process.
