KOTA KINABALU: Most of the crew of a fishing vessel reported missing off Pulau Mengalum on Wednesday (Dec 20) have been found and are safe. Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) Kota Kinabalu director First Admiral Adam Aziz said seven out of the nine crew were found safe at about 8pm on Thursday (Dec 21). The nine fishermen had gone out from Pulau Gaya on Dec 17 but their engine malfunctioned as they neared Pulau Mengalum. However, the crew on board the boat could not help them due to the high waves and could only alert the authorities. The third man was later rescued by the MMEA.
