PUTRAJAYA: Federal Territories mufti Datuk Dr Zulkifli al-Bakri (pic) has hailed Malaysians who chose to defend the sanctity of Jerusalem regardless of their religious beliefs. “We can also see Malaysian leaders come out with strong statements, as well as non-governmental associations, Muslims and non-Muslims alike,” he said. Dr Zulkifli said due to these voices, the United Nations General Assembly voted to reject Trump’s move on Thursday night. Jerusalem should remain a sacred place, especially for Muslims,” he said. Dr Zulkifli was among key figures present at the “Solidarity to Save Jerusalem” rally, organised by the Barisan Nasional government, but which also saw the appearance of leaders from across the political divide.
