Officers have made a small dent in the rash of ATM thefts that have plagued the province since the beginning of the year. A joint investigation by RCMP and the Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team has cracked two organized theft rings responsible for at least six ATM thefts. It took five months for ALERT officers and RCMP officers from the eastern and central Alberta districts to crack the two organized theft rings. Shahin Mehdizadeh says officers from the east and central Alberta district worked with ALERT to bust an organized theft ring.
