The seven New JMB militants arrested in Mymensingh town Monday have been placed on three-day remand in an Anti-Terrorism case. The accused are Shahidul Islam Ratan, Ashiqur Rahman, Al-Amin, Masum Ahmed, Shah Alam Shamim, Roman Mia and Nasir Uddin. A former student of Sylhet Cadet College, Rattan is believed to be the leader of the group. Al-Amin is the vice-president of Chhatra League’s Dhobaura Union unit while Nasir is a student of Mymensingh Cadet College. Police say the militants were planning to carry out attacks on Hindus during religious programmes and on people celebrating Pohela Boishakh.
