District Detective Branch Officer-in-Charge Masudur Rahman said that the New JMB militant leader had confessed before the court of Senior Judicial Magistrate ASM Taskinul Haque Wednesday afternoon. Rajib alias Gandhi was placed on a five-day remand in the case on March 30 and produced before the court Wednesday for confessional statement. He then gave confessional statements in two murder cases filed with Gaibandha and one with Bogra police stations. Detectives have also sought the court’s order to remand him in New JMB’s Sholakia Eidgah attack of July 7, 2016. Rajib is the son of Osman Gani Mondol from Paschim Raghabpur Bhutmara village under Bonarpara of Shaghata of Gaibandha.
