ORIGINAL POST:Montgomery County police said a pedestrian was fatally struck by a MARC train near the Twinbrook station at about 4:30 p.m. Monday. Maryland Department of Transportation officials encouraged commuters to use the Penn Line and Metro. ADMontgomery County police initially said the incident involved a CSX freight train but later said it was a MARC train that struck the pedestrian. Bou Avenue was closed between Randolph Road and Chapman Avenue during the investigation, and commuters were advised to adjust routes. It's the second time Monday that someone was fatally struck by a train in the Maryland suburbs.
