'Serial killer' Border Patrol agent accused of 4 murders held on $2.5M bond

A U.S. Border Patrol supervisor accused of killing four Texas women and kidnapping a fifth was jailed Sunday on $2.5 million bond. Webb County District Attorney Isidro Alaniz said Saturday that investigators "consider this to be a serial killer." According to a police affidavit, Ortiz said he killed Ramirez, a mother of two, the previous day. On Friday, according to the affidavit, Ortiz picked up a woman named Erika Pena. Jail records don't list an attorney to speak for Ortiz, who had worked for Border Patrol for 10 years.
