A senior chamber of commerce official has been charged with conspiracy to defraud a Nairobi businesswoman of land worth Sh2 billion at Embakasi. Laban Onditi Rao, national vice chairman of Kenya National Chamber of Commerce and Industry, was also charged with uttering a false document. The court was told that the official conspired to defraud Rosemary Macharia on April 3, 2014 at an unknown place with others who did not appear on Thursday. Onditi was further accused of uttering the said false document - to be used for title deed processing - at the Survey of Kenya Headquarters, Ruaraka. He denied the charges before Milimani senior principal magistrate Martha Mutuku and was released on a Sh500,000 bond or Sh300,000 cash bail.
