[Courtesy]Kiambu Senator Kimani Wamatangi’s car bazaar, car wash and other structures near Nyayo National Stadium, Nairobi, were flattened today.The demolition is the first one this year after the wave of demolition of buildings on riparian or grabbed land that swept the city by storm in 2018. Wamatangi’s structure; a car wash and carpet-cleaning area is a few metres from Aerodrome Road and the railway line. The demolitions that extended to Prime Place Restaurant and other adjacent structures targeted facilities on Railway land, police said. In January, Public Works, Housing and Infrastructure PS Paul Maringa decried the rise of buildings on road and railway reserves. ''
