Senator Cleophas Malala and his co-accused Joel Wekesa, Shakila Amboye, Joyce Kahvere, Marvin Kombo, Ababu Shago and Secily Ambeyi during a court hearing in Kakamega on March 10, 2021. Malala’s bodyguard was charged with using his firearm to injure a member of the public and released on a bond worth Sh200,000. The total bond for Malala is 2.5 million and his accomplices’ is Sh12,200,000.
