Matiang'i hits out at Judiciary for being 'lenient' on criminals


Interior CS Fred Matiangí has hit out the Judiciary for being lenient to perpetrators of crime. Matiangi said since the country has not embraced consequences to one's actions and many perpetrators of crime have moved on with a culture of impunity. Matiang'i said more arrests on electoral violence have been done but Kenya being a democratic society, suspects are released on bail once presented in court. Matiang'i said a time has come for the Judiciary to give way forward on how they should handle some of the criminal cases. Matiang'i said moving forward, the security agencies are collaborating on a different strategy that is within the law to handle some of the cases.
