Semiconductor Manufacturing International (0981) plans to list on the Science and Technology Innovation Board of the Shanghai Stock Exchange, issuing up to 1.686 billion new shares for its "12-Inch SN1 Project." The board approved the proposed yuan share issue on April 30. The total issued shares will increase to 6.8 billion shares, after completion of the listing. The group said it will convene the extraordinary general meeting to propose the resolutions for consideration and approval of, among other things, the proposed yuan share issue. SMI delisted from the New York Stock Exchange in May last year.
