"We've had this conversation over the past few years with non-band member residents that this will be at their own cost. Semiahmoo First Nation Chief Harley Chappell and Surrey Mayor Linda Hepner sign an agreement for water services. Non-band residents of the Semiahmoo First Nation will have to pay at least $50,000 to connect to the community's upcoming clean water line. The project received $10 million in federal funding, but that won't cover the 36 non-band residents. Like all other non-band residents, she now pays a monthly fee to stay on the property.
