Selangor Sultan wants quick resolution to state water issue [NSTTV]


SHAH ALAM: The Sultan Selangor, Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah, today issued a decree, instructing the Selangor government and the Federal government to work together to finalise the takeover process of the state’s water concession companies on the spirit of federalism to safeguard the interests of the state and its people. When I spoke at the opening of the fifth term of the State Legislative Assembly sitting last year, I had decreed that everyone should adopt a responsible attitude and not politicise the state’s water issue. The Sultan of Selangor also gave his consent to the state government and Air Selangor’s wish to ensure the state’s water supply is uninterrupted, and expressed hope that the state’s water industry would be managed in a holistic and efficient manner for the people.
