The extent of the damage caused to the road is now more visible after the water from the river, which overtook the road, receded. Pictures from the scene of the incident shared by Asaase Radio show a huge chunk of the highway completely cut off. Earlier, GhanaWeb reported that parts of the Accra-Winneba Highway had been left impassable after portions of the road collapsed. Viral visuals of the incident sighted by GhanaWeb showed part of the highway completely washed off. Reports indicated that the water from the river also flooded farmlands and parts of the Gomoa Okyereko community.
