Security has been beefed up ahead of the official opening ceremony for the IAAF World Under 18 Championship event at the Kasarani stadium. More than 1,500 athletes from 130 countries are here to participate in the championships which end on July 16. Local Organising Committee (LOC) CEO Mwangi Muthee has said that the country is ready to host the Global Championships. In a statement, Muthee said Nkaissery was coordinating a seven-ministry Government effort to ready the country for the event.
