Three of the four poets who contributed to Counting the Beats, a second Geraldine anthology, from left Jan Vernon, Steve Dakin and Jan Hill. (Absent: Simon Snow)Poetry is not all about words that rhyme, they tell a story, are humorous, or express a feeling and some are songs too, three Geraldine poets say. Counting the Beats, a second Geraldine anthology, comprises four Geraldine poets’ work, three who were in the first anthology, Jan Vernon, Jan Hill and Simon Snow, with the addition of newcomer to the anthology Steve Dakin. The latest collection of poems took a number of years to get to the publishing stage with Hill editing. The poets will be at Bay Hill Books for the authors' event of Counting the Beats at 5.30pm on March 23.
