SEBERANG JAYA: Thousands of people in Seberang Perai are gearing up to brace for possible second wave of floods after the Meteorological Department forecasted heavy downpours for the next seven days. “I do not want to clean up the mess yet as news report had warned for a possible second wave of floods and there would be no point for me to start clean now,” said the 40-year-old engineer. “We (Penang) will experience floods at least once a year and until now, the state government failed to tackle this problem. “They should set aside the political difference and work together with the federal government to mitigate the floods, especially with the possibility of the second wave. Checks by NST revealed that a cleanup effort is underway in flood-ravaged areas on the mainland especially at in the districts of Seberang Perai Tengah and Sebarang Perai Utara.
