Although Statistics Canada data shows that Black boys make up less than 10 per cent of the city's population for that age group, of the missing boys, almost half were Black. Shana McCalla launched a social media campaign to draw attention to the plight of missing Black boys in Ontario. The Find Ontario's Missing Boys Instagram page, created by Shana McCalla, went viral, shining a spotlight on the issue of missing Black teens in the province.
