Sculpting festival recycling old farm clutter in small Manawatū town of KimboltonPHOTO: WARWICK SMITH / STUFF Terry Hawkins who is an artist, mechanic and engineer of Kimbolton creates sculptures from scrap metal. Farmers are being asked to scrounge around their property for scrap metal and old farm material they can recycle into a sculpture. Waugh said the organisers took inspiration from the Australian small town of Lockhart, which suffered a drought that caused concerns about farmers' mental wellbeing. The townspeople held a sculpting festival which for the past 10 years has attracted thousands of people. Partly in response we are organising this annual rural sculpture festival.
