Campervan filmed crossing centre line in Catlins

Alarming footage has captured a Maui campervan driving on the wrong side of the road at about 70km/h in the Catlins. The campervan was described as "an accident waiting to happen" by motorist Kodi Goodman and his family, who filmed it at Curio Bay in the Catlins on Sunday afternoon. Goodman said the European couple aged in their 30s driving the campervan appeared unfazed. "They were probably doing about 70km/h and we just did our best to signal them and get past," Goodman told Fairfax. Tourism Holdings Ltd, which rented the filmed campervan, said the driver had been contacted and "reminded about safe driving in New Zealand, especially staying left," Fairfax reported.
