Stephen H. Richardson, University of Cape TownAfter analyzing a number of diamonds, geologists have discovered "young diamonds" which will undoubtedly shake up the diamond industry. So much so, that geologists thought the melting conditions necessary only existed in the early stages of Earth. However, it appears the creation of diamond, young diamonds, occurred much later in Earth's history than was previously thought. They were looking for small impurities in the diamonds that may give hints at the conditions in which they initially formed. The later is far younger than geologists thought conditions existed to produce diamonds.
