Trump administration officials dismiss that notion, saying much of the criticism comes from activists outside the federal government. Many scientists who work for the U.S. government or rely on its funding say the changes brought by the Trump administration are being felt across the country. Some federal researchers said they left the Trump administration after concluding their work was being undermined. For now, employees transferred to Kansas City are working out of an existing USDA office until permanent space is leased.
