10-year-old struck by stray bullet at school in Oxnard, police say


A shooting near an elementary school in Oxnard on Thursday morning sent a 10-year-old student to the hospital, police said. The child was struck about 11:30 a.m. by a stray bullet that had been fired off-campus by a person in a car at another vehicle, Sgt. A ten-year old student at McAuliffe School was struck by a stray bullet and has been transported to a nearby hospital with a non-life threatening injury. The Oxnard Police Department is continuing to investigate the shooting and is asking anyone with information to call (805) 385-7600.
