A school assembly and prize-giving ceremony was held at Shahid Hadis Park, Khulna on Thursday to present awards to the best schools in terms of sanitation practice in Khulna. The event was held under Sanitation Month and World Hand Wash Day 2017, organised by Khulna City Corporation’s FSM School Sanitation Programme in association with SNV Netherlands Development Organisation. Three primary schools – Daulatpur Mohsin Government Primary School, Raimahal Hamidnagar Haji Md Mohsin Government Primary School, and Sonar Bangla Government Primary School – received the awards. The event consisted of presentations by Khulna Sadar Thana Education Officer Md Aminul Islam, and Secondary and Higher Secondary Education Office Research Officer Kamruzzaman, on the best sanitised primary schools and the rigorous selection process undertaken to select the best sanitised schools respectively. The student councils and SMC teachers will be made aware about improved sanitation systems and plan.
