BDRCS chairman and IFRC secretary general visit Rohingya at Cox’s Bazar


Bangladesh Red Crescent Society (BDRCS) Chairman Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar and International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) Secretary General Elhadj As Sy visited Cox’s Bazar at the Tambru border on Thursday. There, the two met with a number of the people and children who have fled Myanmar and are now living in the Tambru border areas. In a video message from the Tambru Border, Hafiz Ahmed Mazumdar said: “Any human being will feel equally sad when they see their fellow beings oppressed like this. The situation is beyond description.”In addition, IFRC Secretary General Elhadj As Sy said: “It hurts me that people have to live in such conditions. A political solution must be found, and until then we are doing all we can do to help them.”Prof Md Habib Millat, MP, vice chairman of the Bangladesh Red Crescent Society, Advocate Touhidur Rahman, treasurer of BDRCS, BMM Mozharul Huq, secretary general of BDRCS, and Azmat Ulla, HoCO of IFRC, Bangladesh, were also present.
