All public schools in Nova Scotia were closed Tuesday after heavy snow and high winds pummelled the province. Schools in all eight regional centres were closed, and some university campuses delayed opening. In a news release on Monday night, the Halifax Regional Municipality said crews were focusing on clearing main roads and sidewalks. "Residents are asked to avoid all non-essential travel while cleanup efforts are underway. The municipality will enforce its winter parking ban between 1 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Wednesday.
