School children to be 'escorted to toilet' by teachers in strict new rules


The strict regime at West Somerset College also states students must be silent when they walk around the school from January 2020. Assistant headteacher Mary Cranna announced the changes in a letter to parents and pupils informing them of "changes to the behaviour system", Somerset Live reports. The new rules state that teachers will be accompanying children to the toilet during lessons "for their own safety" and children must walk around school in silence. "Tutors and teachers will then escort students in silence to lessons.
