KOTA KINABALU: Sabah police believe they have smashed a scam syndicate with the arrest of 80 China nationals in a series of raids at 11 luxury condominiums in the state capital here and neighbouring Penampang. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Omar Mammah said they seized 250 mobile phones and 69 laptops during the raid. Of the 80 China nationals picked up, 13 were women. The raid came about after the syndicate scammed about RM1.4mil last year from a 60-year-old local professional. Police are also trying to identify other people who had fallen victim to the syndicate.
