PETALING JAYA: Over RM3.5mil in illegal cigarettes has been seized by the police. Acting on a tip-off from the public, the Special Operations Force (PGK) on Thursday (Oct 24) busted a syndicate which has been operating in Sungai Buloh. "Three men were arrested," said Bukit Aman Internal Security and Public Order Department director Comm Datuk Seri Acryl Sani Abdullah Sani in a statement on Friday (Oct 25). "The suspects, aged 21 to 45 years old, have been detained for further investigations," he said. The police also seized 21,650 cartons of cigarettes which – when the required taxes are factored in – were valued at RM3,637,200.
