Mr Bezos, 56, and the prince were having a friendly exchange over WhatsApp when he received the video message that is believed to have concealed malware that infected his mobile and would have allowed information to be stolen. The claim, reported in The Guardian, raises questions about whether the world’s richest man, who owns The Washington Post, was targeted by Saudi Arabia for material that was compromising or secret.
