Saudi Arabia has arrested more than 200 people for violating 'public decency' in the first such crackdown since the ultra-conservative kingdom began easing social regulations. Some 120 men and women have been arrested over the past week for offending public morals, including by wearing immodest clothing and 'harassment', police said. Other rules broken included wearing 'inappropriate clothes', Riyadh police said in a series of statements on Twitter since Tuesday. Saudi fans at the MDL Beast Fest music festival in Banban on the outskirts of the Saudi capital Riyadh on December 19. But in September, Saudi Arabia said it would penalise violations of 'public decency', including wearing immodest clothing and public displays of affection, after the austere kingdom began issuing tourist visas for the first time.
