Former Bayan Muna Rep. Satur Ocampo on Monday denied recruiting minors to join communist rebels, adding that it was against the rule of the Communist Party of the Philippines and the New People’s Army (CPP-NPA). ADVERTISEMENT“There is a rule in the CPP-NPA against recruitment of minors. So, definitely, that could not be a part of the program of the NPA,” Ocampo said in an interview over ABS CBN News Channel. “The communities of the lumads are in the hinterlands so they become battle ground areas. “So, it doesn’t deny that there are lumads who joined the NPA but they are not minors,” he added.
